The ninth day of the ninth lunar month is the Double Ninth Festival. The number nine is regarded as yang. The ninth day of the ninth month is a double yang day, so the day is also called "Chong Yang Festival". (Chong means "repeat" in Chinese.) In addition, the "nine" is homophonic with the Chinese character "longevity", signifying longevous. We wish the elderly good health and a long life. For this reason, people has designated the 9th of the ninth month as the Seniors' Day, combining tradition with modernity to make it a festival of respect and care for the elderly. Besides, the fall season of the year is the golden harvest season.
The celebration of Chong Yang Festival is colourful and romantic, includes climbing mountains, wearing cornel twigs, viewing chrysanthemums and eating Double Ninth cakes. There is a Chinese saying that among all the virtues, filial piety is the best . On this day, people will visit the elders and family will get together. Singclean has always paid attention to promoting the traditional Chinese virtues. On October 11th, Singclean sent representatives to the six nearby communities(Blue Waterfront Community, Ithaca Community, Lang Qin Community, Wen Chao Community, Dolan Waterfront Community and Chenguang International Community) to visit the elderly and send them daily necessities, such as rice and cooking oil. At the same time, Singclean also presented festive gifts and best wishes to the parents of the company's employees. And this tradition of cooking oil and rice giving has been carried on for 18 years since Singclean’s establishment.
