Singjoint Sodium Hyaluronate Injection For Joint

For the treatment of symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee, Singjoint® sodium hyaluronate injection for the joint is important for orthopedic surgery. Replacing and supplementing the pathological synovial fluid in the osteoarthritic joints reduces pain and improves joint function. SingJoint® is a clear gel solution, obtained by dissolving sodium hyaluronate or hyaluronic acid (hereinafter as 'HA') in phosphate-buffered saline, which is contained in a pre-filled syringe. SingJoint® is for single intra-articular injection. The product is a unique type of linear macromolecular mucopolysaccharide, composing repeating disaccharide units of glucuronic acid and N-acetyl glucosamine.

Singjoint® is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee. Replacing and supplementing the pathological synovial fluid in the osteoarthritic joints reduces pain and improves joint function.

What is osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is a joint disease caused by multiple factors leading to fibrosis, cracking, ulceration, and loss of articular cartilage. Its occurrence is associated with factors such as age, obesity, inflammation, trauma, and genetics. The pathological characteristics include degeneration and destruction of articular cartilage, subchondral bone sclerosis or cystic changes, osteophyte formation at the joint margins, synovial hyperplasia, joint capsule contracture, ligament laxity or contracture, muscle atrophy, and weakness. The main clinical manifestations are joint pain, stiffness, deformity, and limited function.

Therapeutic Efficacy

SingJoint® helps to lubricate the joint, form a protective barrier, buffer stress, and inhibit inflammation within the joint cavity. It also stimulates the synovial membrane to produce high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate, which can help alleviate joint pain, improve mobility, reduce synovial inflammation, and slow the progression of the disease.

FAQ

Q: 1. How is SingJoint® given?

A: 1. SingJoint® is administered via injection directly into the knee. The treatment may involve a series of three injections, given one week apart, or a single injection, depending on your doctor's recommendation.

Q: 2. What is the procedure like?

A: 2. The injection of SingJoint® should only be performed by trained physicians. Each injection typically takes just a few minutes and can be done in the comfort of your doctor's office. It is essential to follow an aseptic technique during the procedure.
If joint effusion is present, it must be aspirated before the injection. The injection will only be effective if the hyaluronic acid is delivered directly into the knee's joint capsule, rather than the surrounding tissues.

Q: 3. Will the injection hurt?

A: 3. Your doctor will likely apply a numbing agent prior to the SingJoint® injection to minimize discomfort. While you may feel some pressure, the procedure should not be painful.

Q: 4. Q: What are the potential adverse reactions of SingJoint® injections?

A: 4. Mild and temporary side effects such as local pain, swelling, arthralgia (joint pain), and joint stiffness at the injection site have been reported. These symptoms are generally mild and resolve on their own within 2 to 7 days. If symptoms persist, please consult your treating doctor.
