Absorbable Chitosan Nerve Conduit for Peripheral Nerve Repair
Singclean® Peripheral Nerve Guide is an absorbable Nerve Guidance Conduit developed for the surgical repair of nerve injuries with nerve gaps of not exceed 20 mm. Manufactured from highly purified chitosan derived through controlled deacetylation and reacetylation of chitin, the conduit creates a protected microenvironment that supports directed axonal regeneration while gradually degrading through normal metabolic pathways.
Unlike conventional silicone tubes that require secondary removal surgery, Singclean® is fully absorbable and eliminates the need for implant retrieval. Its semi-permeable structure helps isolate the repair site from surrounding soft tissue, and allows clear visualization for more accurate suturing.
Designed for microsurgical peripheral nerve repair, Singclean® Peripheral Nerve Guide offers surgeons a ready-to-use solution that simplifies intraoperative handling while helping reduce tension at the repair site.
Indications
Singclean® Peripheral Nerve Guide is intended for:
Peripheral nerve injury repair
Peripheral nerve defects <20 mm

Mode of Action
1. Constructs a protective channel
The two nerve stumps are inserted into the conduit and secured with sutures, leaving a small gap of no more than 2 mm between them, thereby forming a "protective chamber" spanning the nerve defect.
2. Provides directional guidance for regeneration
The inner lumen of the conduit serves as a "track", guiding regenerating axons to grow straight along the conduit and ensuring precise alignment between the proximal and distal nerve fibers.
3. Creates an isolated regenerative microenvironment
The conduit acts as a physical barrier, effectively preventing external muscle and fibrous tissue from infiltrating the regeneration area, thus avoiding interference with the natural nerve healing process.
4. Inhibits neuroma formation
By restricting the disorganized growth and outward sprouting of nerve fibers, the conduit significantly reduces the risk of neuroma formation and abnormal hyperplasia.
Advantages
Fully Absorbable
Unlike silicone conduits, Singclean® naturally degrades and is metabolized by the body, avoiding secondary removal surgery.
Maintains Structural Integrity
Unlike collagen conduits that soften after hydration, the chitosan conduit maintains elasticity and mechanical support in wet surgical
environments.
Ready for Immediate Use
The conduit is sterile and pre-soaked in Water for Injection, eliminating the need for rinsing.
Semi-Permeable Design
Transparent tube walls allow surgeons to visualize nerve stump positioning during microsurgery while maintaining a protected regenerative environment.
Tension-Free Repair
Avoids nerve stump stretching and the need for autologous nerve grafting, sparing patients a second surgery and achieving better recovery.
Excellent Biocompatibility
Made from highly purified chitosan with favorable tissue compatibility and no observed irritation in implantation testing.
Clinical Data

Histological observations at 14 days and 3 months showed more extensive nerve fiber growth and myelination in the Singclean® group than in the model group.
Histological observations at 14 days and 3 months showed more extensive nerve fiber growth and myelination in the Singclean® group than in the model group.
According to GB/T 16886.6-2022 biological evaluation criteria:
1-week irritation score: 0.00
4-week irritation score: 0.80
Both values remained well below the irritation threshold of 2.9, indicating good local tissue compatibility.
Usage Steps
01 / Preoperative Preparation
Check that the outer packaging of the peripheral nerve guide is intact and shows no
damage. The preservation solution in the device is water for injection; the guide is ready for
use immediately upon removal without any additional treatment.
02 / Surgical Procedure
The surgical procedure follows the standard technique of small-gap sleeve anastomosis.
Using median nerve injury repair as an example, the specif ic steps are as follows:

01 Expose the injured nerve
Make an incision at the site of nerve injury and, following the course of the median nerve, dissect layer by layer to expose the damaged median nerve. Handle tissues gently to avoid injuring other important blood vessels and nerves.
02 Debride the nerve stumps
Use a blade or microscissors to trim away the damaged tissue (e.g., pseudoneuroma) from the median nerve stumps, exposing the healthy nerve fascicles.
03 Bridge the nerve stumps with the conduit
Place the bridging conduit between the two nerve stumps, and suture the nerve stumps to the conduit to secure them in place.
04 Inspect and reposition
Check that the nerve inside the conduit is neither twisted nor kinked. Once confirmed, reposition the repaired nerve and conduit within healthy tissue.
05 Closure and finishing
Achieve hemostasis, irrigate the wound, and close the incision in layers. If necessary, place a drain to evacuate fluid accumulation.

FAQ
Q: 1. What is a Nerve Conduit?
A: A Nerve Conduit is an implantable tubular device that bridges peripheral nerve defects by creating a protected pathway for regenerating axons, reducing the need for autologous nerve grafts in selected cases.
Q: 2. What nerve gap can Singclean® repair?
A: The product is indicated for peripheral nerve defects not exceed 20 mm.
Q: 3. What material is the conduit made from?
A: It is manufactured from chitin.
Q: 4. Does the conduit require removal after implantation?
A: No. Singclean® is fully absorbable and degrades naturally through normal metabolic processes, eliminating the need for removal surgery.
Q: 5. Is the product ready to use?
A: Yes. The conduit is sterile and supplied pre-soaked in Water for Injection, allowing immediate implantation without rinsing.
Q: 6. How long does the conduit provide mechanical support?
A: It provides structural support for approximately 3 months, corresponding to the critical phase of peripheral nerve regeneration.
Q: 7. Is OEM or private labeling available?
A: Yes. Singclean supports OEM/ODM cooperation for qualified global medical device distributors, subject to applicable regulatory requirements.
